  • Sitebuilder 4.2 for Windows

Symptoms

Following error message outputted during installation:

"Error 1320. The specified path is too long: <path or subs drive>"

Cause

Drives mapped using the SUBST command are not visible to processes running as the local system account. This includes the Windows Installer engine. This restriction does not exist in Windows 2000 or XP.

Resolution

If you are getting "error 1320", make sure that you are not installing Sitebuilder to a substituted drive. You should install it directly to the desired sub-directory.

In case you are getting the "Installation ended prematurely" message, make sure that you are not launching the installer from a substituted virtual drive. You should launch the installation directly from the actual drive and subdirectory.
